a rainy day.

There are two types of precipitation: flakes and drops. After five months of flakes, drops are deliriously delightful. Chilly, drizzly drops signal spring's commencement...a season free from mittens, frosty windshields and exorbitant heating bills.

Drops also bring a hope for sprouts and growth, and then...eventually color. And then...peonies. I am, already, anxiously awaiting peony season. :)

  1. Oh, peonies! I love peonies!

Just posting some photos of springtime in our garden. I think it's really here!

By the way, you and your umbrella look super-cute together...

  2. Oh I can't wait!!!! And although it's not sunshine, we're heading into the 60's this weekend with plenty of rain and I'll take it. I just want to curl up with the windows open a crack and smell that rain!

And um, how do you manage to be so ridiculously adorable all the time? LOVE the picture.

  3. Your post makes me want to watch "Singing in the Rain!"

I love the lyrics to the song...

    "I'm singing in the rain
    Just singing in the rain
    What a glorious feelin'
    I'm happy again
    I'm laughing at clouds
    So dark up above
    The sun's in my heart
    And I'm ready for love
    Let the stormy clouds chase
    Everyone from the place
    Come on with the rain
I've a smile on my face
    I walk down the lane
    With a happy refrain
    Just singin',
    Singin' in the rain"

Oh, and I LOVE peonies too!
    Blessings!

  4. oh you are sooo positive! good for you. The rain we've started to get has been a bit of a downer to me esp after a hard winter. To think last year in living in the desert in the MIddle East I missed missed rain and now am so tired of precipitation I could jump off the roof! pretty photo

  9. Your umbrella is so cute! We've had several days of cold 32-35 degree rain - the kind that inspires thoughts of pulling up the covers and hiding. peonies sound much nicer!! I had hoped the sun might shine today - but I guess there's always tomorrow.....

Every time you comment, a unicorn gets his wings. Also, my phone beeps and your words bring me joy. :)
