hello, freckles.

In Wisconsin, summer has just come in like a lion. Currently it's 90 degrees and the air feels as thick as pea soup...signaling the beginning of white skin and shoulder baring season.

Which leads me to this: I'm not sure how to live without cardigans. Truly, it's all I've worn for the last seven months. Thoughts of emerging from my comfortably air-conditioned apartment sans arm cover up have me near hyperventilation. The blinding whiteness! The shoulder freckles! The arm jiggle...oh, the arm jiggle!

Am I alone, or do you suffer during this wardrobe transition phase, too?

  1. I don't have freckles, but I always thought they were kinda cute.
But arm jiggle? Yeah, I definitely know that... that's why I have thin, light cardigans for the summer :D
By the way, your updo looks cute! How did you do it?

  5. Beth I'm with you 100%. I love my cardigans to death and I'm not really sure how to move on to summer without them.

  6. You, dear Bethany, have NOTHING to worry about! Don't be so hard on yourself! You look terrific and so very pretty! Just get out and enjoy the summer weather! Before you know it you'll be back in those cardigans like it or not!
    Blessings!

  7. Nebraska actually had a spring this year(!) so the transition was fairly easy - winter clothes, light cardies, 3/4 sleeves and Yikes - now it's time for short sleeves.....Sleeveless is not a good look for me, so that just doesn't happen regardless of the weather. (Bare your shoulders with pride! Enjoy your freckles! Remember your sunscreen!) I ride my bike to work a lot so I need to be presentable when I get there but find some way of staying cool. It's a battle.

  8. I've come to love my pale minnesota skin lately. I do tan up in the summer, but I love the glow of ivory that settles in the winter. And freckles are like sprinkles on a cake... enjoy them!

  9. I'm a big fan of the jean jacket. For some reason it doesn't feel as heavy to me, but it still has that nice security-blanket feel to me.

Also, I see you do the same thing I do when it comes to pulling your hair up- a little bun with bobby pins. Ponytails are for the gym ;)

  11. Got the arm jiggle here! I don't leave home without some sort of wrap or shawl due to red blotchy arms. In which everyone says, "What's wrong with your arms?" GAH.

Ah, but to feel the warm sun on your shoulders. Summer does have it's ups!

  12. Hi Bethany,
Just wanted to pop by to say hello and I hope you're keeping covered (at least with sunscreen!) We're still waiting on our summer weather here. It's a long time coming!

  13. How in the world did you get your hair up like that? I have no patience for hair. I cut it short mostly so that I couldn't keep putting it up in ponytails! Any tips?

Every time you comment, a unicorn gets his wings. Also, my phone beeps and your words bring me joy. :)
