sweet, sweet world.

This isn't even hyperbole. With several Christmas parties requiring me to bake in my home, plus return home with more treats, this girl has been left in a dangerously cookie-laden world. While making this pie chart, I realized that in one 24-hour period, I had eaten only cookies, chocolates and treats. And yesterday after finally eating a hearty sandwich, I couldn't figure out why I was stuffed until midnight.

Oh my.

So, on a return trip from the gym, I stopped at the grocery store and dropped fifteen dollars on a fruit tray. Extravagant, I know. But finals week draws nigh, and I simply must keep something around that is healthy + quick...and as alluring as the frosted sugar cookies that pervade my world.

Fresh pineapple and strawberries might give a mint brownie a run for its money...right? :)


  1. Oh Bethany, I am having an opposite kind of problem - I am supposed to be on a strict diet and finding all the festive food I feel I 'should' be eating very hard to resist!!

  2. Suuuure, you keep telling yourself that! hehe It's funny, given the choice between a sandwich or a plate of brownies, I'd always choose the sandwich. Love sandwiches to death! But I feel your pain, I have to send everything I make to work with John or I'd be in major trouble.

  3. I definitely have a sweet tooth (and a soft spot for cake + cookies + pasteries), but I LOVE fruit, and feel much better after filling up on that instead.

  5. LOVE love love this diet chart!! Ugh... the holidays leave me so helpless for sweets. I'm opting for yogurt. Love your idea of a fruit tray. Sometimes you simply have to rearrange your spending priorities! :)

  7. My holiday diet looks pretty much the same. Which is why my new work pants (cargo-style with tons of flaps and pockets) look super awful on me :D So yeah, I think I'll buy some fruit tomorrow, too!

  8. haha, love the pie chart! you're so funny. luckily, I haven't been around too many cookies so I'm doing ok on the holiday sweets front. BUT tomorrow is my work's holiday office party so we shall see just how long I can abstain from the goodies of the season!

    p.s. I just remembered I did have two cupcakes this past weekend. but I can't exactly blame christmas. I was at a baby shower! and they were soooo good :)

  9. Haha I would love to eat more yummy foods. Especially biscuits (cookies).

    I don't mind fresh fruit like strawberries and pineapple. I especially love watermelon in the summer time.

    But sweets almost go hand in hand with Christmas so it's difficult not to eat them. x
