give for japan...giveaway day 3.

Welcome to Day Three, friends! It was my blog friend Jamie who got my wheels spinning about ways to get involved with the crisis in Japan. When she posted a list of ways we could help, she highlighted Madeline Bea, a photographer who committed to donating 100% of her proceeds to disaster relief efforts in Japan. Of course I had to hop over and check out this big-hearted lady.

And oh-my-gorgeousness. Time faded away as I clicked from photo to photo, finding myself lost in her world of blooms and vintage whimsy. Refreshing. Inspiring. Romantic.

So, today I'm giving away two of Madeline Bea's prints, an 8x10 of Sweet Love and a 5x7 of Passion. Both are positively perfect to hang in your creative space...a little boost of dreaminess when you've lost yourself in a day of laundry and dishes.

I'm sure by now you all know the drill, but just in case...here's how to enter:

Leave a comment sharing with me the best thing you've hung on your walls. A tad narcissistic, but my fav is a collage from early in my art program...it was the first thing I created that I really, really loved.

And for an extra entry, share this giveaway via your blog, Facebook or however you like to squawk about cute stuff, then double back to let me know you've shared the news.

Also, if you missed giveaways Day 1 and Day 2...make sure to head over and comment!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

For every comment left this week, 50 cents will be donated to ShelterBox's efforts in Japan...so chat it up, my friends! This week's giveaways will remain open until Sunday evening, and I'll announce the winners on Monday, March 28th. As always, the giveaways are warmly open to my friends across the pond!

  2. Hard question! Right now, I would say it's my pictures of niece Z only because I just updated it with some fresh new pics! Miss that girl something fierce and I just saw her last week.

  3. I am horrible at hanging stuff up on the walls. But I do have to say that living in the dorm and plastering the walls with random pictures, bracelets, magazine adds, wild wedgies, and christmas lights pretty much takes the cake. Chaotic but beautiful =)

  4. On my first trip overseas I bought an oil painting of Victoria Peak in Hong Kong. That painting started a tradition, now when I travel i always bring home a piece of art - sometimes I can only afford a print, but I always bring something home and hang it in my home to remind me of the places I've been.

Don't you just LOVE Maegan's work? I have two of her prints hanging and am adding a third this month and as a bonus I'm helping Japan a the same time.

  5. So pretty! Hmm...I think my favorite thing would have to be a painting a very good friend did for me when we were in high school.

P.S. Your new header looks lovely!

  8. My favorite was a huge photograph that we had in our first apartment. We were broke and couldn't afford many "decor" items so we spent the day at the japanese gardens and took a million photos. We picked our favorite, blew it up and it lived on the wall behind our couch for over two years until we moved into our first house.

  10. How about my favorite thing that I WILL hang on my walls. I am dreaming of purchasing a giant canvas to hang above the couch and searching for the perfect quote to paint on it.

  11. My favorite thing that I hung on our wall is our giant 11 x 14 picture that J + J took of us for our wedding. I love it because it takes me back to that day, to all those feelings.

P.S. Are you going to Paris this summer? Chad and I are going too! We will be there end of July--when are you planning on going? How long will you be there? Wouldn't it be wild if we are there at the same time? (We'd have to share some wine under the Eiffel Tower) :)

  15. My grandmother made a wall hanging for me that detailed my life and achievements up until that point. She'd even made a little friendship bracelet and stitched it on. It's still one of the most thoughtful gifts I've ever received.

  16. My favorite thing I have put up on my wall is, what else, a horse poster.
I can put these over my antique desk and typewriter for inspiration.
Okay, now off to some antique stores to find a desk.;)

  20. favorite thing? i have lots of great things i have found over the years, but they don't really have any sentimental value. Right now I love a "flower in a vase" print made by Aidan. I also love empty frames..... i have them all over the place.

  21. Probably the best thing I have on my walls is a picture of my and brother from when we were little. We're both dressed up for Halloween and he has this really sweet zebra face paint. It's all faded and nostalgic...I love it!

  24. My very first photo that took my breath away. It is a mushroom and I took the photo at my sister's cottage. We call it the money shot! My great nephew calls all the mushrooms on the forest floor moneyshots!

  25. I can't really decide which photo I like more. One day I look at these prints and think "hearts" then the next day I think "camera" and go back and forth. Now I'm just settled at they're both too stinking cute and I'd love them both over my desk at school.
