give for japan...giveaway day 2.

I'm particular about my writing utensils. For a while it was black pens only, and then I slowly opened my world to include black felt tip pens...then really made a jump when I embraced old-fashioned pencils. You know...the kind that require effort and sharpening. They're charming. And life needs a little more charm, don't you think?

So, it's really no wonder that I fell in love with charming Giveway #2: "Me & You Pencils", a set of six natural wood pencils which adorably complete the phrase "We go together like...". And here's where charming meets oh-so-lovely: For every set of pencils purchased, Knot and Bow is donating $8 to relief efforts. We love that. (And by "we" I mean "me"...but I'm certain you love it, too.)

But there's more! Because this week is all about giving...because I'm a sucker for a pretty package...and because I'm certain one of you would love it...this giveaway also includes Knot and Bow's The Classics Gifting Kit. A touch of everything a girl might need to wrap a pretty package for any occasion or scrapbook her heart out. We're talking baker's twine, ribbon, glassine bags, kraft paper, tags...and that's just the start.

Take a gander at the wrapping classics below! Swoonworthy, no? :)

Entering this giveaway follows all the classic rules. Here's how to win:
  • Leave a comment on this post with your writing utensil preference...are you a pen girl? Pencils? Do you know how to get down with a calligraphy pen? You know you have a favorite!
  • And for an extra entry, share this giveaway via your blog, Facebook or however you like to squawk about cute stuff, then double back to let me know you've shared the news.

Thank you, a million times, to all those who have participated so far in my little week of Give for Japan. I'm beyond thrilled. If you missed it, don't forget to throw your hat in yesterday's giveaway ring, because those glitzy baubles would look fantastic on you.

----------------------------------------------------

As always, the giveaways are warmly open to my friends across the pond! This week's giveaways will remain open until Sunday evening, and I'll announce the winners on Monday, March 28th. For every comment left this week, 50 cents will be donated to ShelterBox's efforts in Japan...so chat it up, my friends!

  1. This is so sweet. The pencils, the packaging stuff, the cause behind it all. Thank you again for doing this. And please enter me!

I love pilot pens (the fine tip kind, you know?), but I also like super thin felt tips and pencils when I'm doing school stuff/recording grades/etc. :)

    xoxo

  3. If you were in my family, I'm pretty sure I would love the gifts I got from you the most! Your family and friends are very lucky indeed.

As boring as it sounds, I like writing with a pen we got from our mortgage broker. It's just a ballpoint pen, but it's really smooth and nice to handle!

  4. I too tweeted you @missjane82 !

  5. I am usually a pen girl...I really love the new Sharpie pens. I do all of my lesson plans in wood pencil though and love it! It makes me feel like I'm back in grade school!

  6. Hi! I just wanted to let you know that I LOVE your blog! I check it every day : )

As for me and my writing utensil preference...i love the free pens from hotels. Hotels always have them, the cheapest bic pens with the cap - do you know what I'm talking about?

  7. CUTE!! I'm mostly a pen girl, but when I'm writing notes I like to go for a colored sharpie or marker.

    ReplyDelete
  8. I love using ultra fine Sharpie markers if I'm writing something only I will see...but if it's something anyone else will see... I'll use pencils so I can erase any mistakes. (I'm a terrible speller!)

    Todays giveaway is so charming!

  9. I have to write with pens, you know the kind that flow so nicely and smoothly... maybe because I hope my words will flow as well.

  10. Those are the cutest pencils ever!!!

At work I am a blue ball point pen girl, and if I can get my hands on the "clicky" ones it's a good day. I also generally use the same pen until it runs out of ink.

Thank you for doing this, your giveaway's are for such a good cause.

  13. Oh please, oh please, oh please pick me! {this is an almost direct quote from my super cute l'il Sawyer, who is always begging me for some sweet or another!)

I'm usually a pen kind of girl, and I must confess I love a fine-tip Sharpie marker. But I am learning to love pencils again, and these ones would tip the scales for sure. They are adorable!

Okay, I'm going to go tweet about this now. And blog about it. I'll be back to let you know!

  18. What a throwback! Mechanical pencils are being put to shame with this one! Sidenote: I can't remember the last time I sharpened a pencil in a hand operated pencil sharpener. I believe it was all the way back in sixth grade.

Other than that little tidbit :) I'm usually a pen girl. And if it's a fine tip blue Pilot pen, I'm even happier.

  19. I'm pretty particular - I prefer black gel pens. But I've found they don't always travel well (a few leaky ones after spending time on airplanes) has me stretching out and embracing whatever I can find. Pencils sure would solve this problem!

  20. Also tweeted from <a href="http://www.twitter.com/allisonmseward>@allisonmseward</a>.

Forgot to mention before - I almost exclusively write in pen now because pencil fades too quickly for me and I also have hated <i>dull</i> pencils since grade school! I mean </i>hated</i> them. I also have a few thin markers (or perhaps they're very colorful, big felt pens?) that I use for notes too just to brighten up my notebooks.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I used to only use blue ink but the pens seemed to run out quickly. Now I'll use pretty much any ballpoint pen except red (I think it's a mean color - must have been all those grade school tests).

    ReplyDelete
  22. This is really so sweet and generous of you!

There is this cheap one- I don't know what it is called because my husband does all of the pen shopping. Office Max is one of his most favorite stores! But lately I've been using pencils again.
