give for japan...giveaway day 4.

Math and I were never pals. Algebra, specifically. Solve for X? I'd rather spend my time reading Tiger Beat's feature on Lance Bass, thankyouverymuch. Ten years later I've yet to use anything beyond 8th grade calculations in real life. And half the time...my calculations are purely to amuse myself. Here's how I do math now:

1 golden birdie
+
2 handstamped leaves

+
27 glorious inches of chain

=
30 things to love about this Patina Locket

Chew on that, former Algebra professors. But really, there are at least 30 things to love about Menuet Designs. The first item on the lovable list: a 20% donation of all sales to Japan Red Cross...such a kind gesture. But second only to their kindness is their whimsical style which leaves me feeling like it's spring...even though I just spent half an hour scraping inches of ice off my windshield. Lovable item number three? The lucky-lucky winner will get to personalize by selecting two handstamped letters they'd like to hang close to their heart. How sweet!

Throw your hat in the ring! Here's how:

Leave a comment sharing the two letters you'd chose to hang 'round your neck. For me, it would be B & D...for my best friend, Becky and my sister, Dana.

And for an extra entry, share this giveaway via your blog, Facebook or however you like to squawk about cute stuff, then double back to let me know you've shared the news.

Thanks so much for playing along!

-------------------------------------------------------------

For every comment left this week, 50 cents will be donated to ShelterBox's efforts in Japan...so chat it up, my friends! This week's giveaways will remain open until Sunday evening, and I'll announce the winners on Monday, March 28th. As always, the giveaways are warmly open to my friends across the pond!

I would have the initials "B & E" not only because my name is Bobbie Erdman
but my grandmas name is Barb and my Grandpas name is Emery.
I also just love the word "BE".
I love the idea of just being who we are, whatever that is!

  20. That is an absolutely gorgeous necklace!!!
(And just for the record, I hate math as much as you do. We've had a long standing terrible relationship with one another, and unfortunately my major requires that I continue to take it...)
Anyway, I'd put the letters L.S. for "life's short", or else KM for my name.
    Thanks for another wonderful giveaway!

  24. Thaks for the opportunity. Your math makes sense to me!
Beautiful necklace! Choosing 2 initials is tough -
    1 husband, 3 kids, 1 grandson...
I think I'd go with plain leaves, It makes me think of turning over a new leaf; the promise contained in the first leaves of spring, and the colorful changing leaves of autumn. The whole cycle of growth and change, and rest, and beauty can be associated with leaves.
(This is a quick stop as my work day winds down. I'll be back later to post a link on my blog)

  28. Oh, I can't wait to see how much your giveaways are generating! In the midst of all the snarky comments about why Japan doesn't need any help, these little things melt my heart.
Easy answer for the initials: A & M
M would be a double-whammy. M for Masanori, my hard-at-work Japanese husband, and M for Melina, my sister and my very best friend.
No matter which side of the globe I'm on, I'm always smack dab in the middle of a big ol' M-love sandwich!

  42. Awwwwwww! I just read about the "D"! Thanks sis!

I would choose an "I" for India where I left a portion of my heart 6 years ago after seeing firsthand their devastation and wonderful recovery from a tsunami. Their story is hope for Japan.

I would also choose a W for two reasons: for the last name of my family, whom i love, and for Wandenalu, which is Telegu for Christian greetings...a word taught to me by some orphans in India.
