i believe in...

(only my friend shannon would own scissors this cute. taken in april, on a trip to philly.)

Remember back when I used to do these little Monday posts...a lists of silly, serious or random things I believe in? Just a Monday kickstart of sorts. My friend Mary tweeted me today, saying she missed my "I believe in Monday" posts. Gabe always tells me he misses them, too.

I suppose I miss them as well. So, here we go:

I believe in...

...fall. Even if it's 109 degrees in Kuwait--and life looks more "sandstorm" than "enchanted autumnal forest"--it is still fall to me. And I still have an overwhelming desire to buy boots, scarves and mittens.

...turning off all "push notifications" on my phone. And most location services....creepy!

...yoga pants. If this period of my life were made into a cartoon, my character would be wearing yoga pants. And a stolen t-shirt from Gabe + a sports bra. And let's get real: it's not because I'm headed to the gym, most days.

...letting Lucky share our bed. (Kids, no. Pets, yes.) Waking up to a little beast, snuggled in my arm crook? I die.

(love the nooks + crannies at swanton berryfarm. taken in march, in santa cruz.)

...counting down the days to everything. Seven days til Gabe turns 36. Nine days til I'm on a flight back to visit the US. Twenty-two days til I meet my best friend's baby boy, and celebrate her birthday.

...drinking a Pumpkin Spice Latte the second my plane lands in the US next week.

...getting back on the blog horse, even though I've been the worst for the past few months. I try not to write unless I feel I have something to say, and then try not to apologize if it's sporadic. I'll continue to do that. We all follow oodles of blogs, and don't need someone blathering on just because she feels she has to meet a quota. Trust me, I want to say things. There's just less to say here. Or maybe I have to figure out what to say. Or how to say it. Something. Regardless, there's some figuring out to do.

So, yeah. I believe in all that.

What do you believe in today?

Happy Monday, pals. Hope it's swell. :)

  1. Hooray! I believe in loving your I Believe posts.

Wasn't that downright vomit worthy? I've been watching a lot of John Hughes movies, they make me warm and fuzzy :)

  2. I'm definitely with you in believing in yoga pants today.

Other than that, I believe in taking an aimless lunchtime walk with no particular destination in mind. Clears the head.

Don't suppose you'll be swinging by the East Coast on your trip home this time around?

  4. I also believe in sharing a bed with my pets. The only time my little dog will cuddle me is for two hours in the morning. It is my favorite time of the day :).

  5. Speaking of blogs...of the "oodles" that you follow, what are your favorites these days? I got married in May, and I'm down to only a couple of non-wedding blogs to follow (including yours of course) and I need some suggestions! Thanks!

  6. I LOVE your I Believe in Mondays posts! You should make a link up! I'm excited for you to come back for a US visit! I have so much respect and admiration for you for moving to Kuwait! I couldn't even more 250 miles from home! ;)

  7. I love these posts too!

I believe in pumpkin spice lattes and all things pumpkin. Including most recently a pumpkin pie shake at Culvers. The best part of the season!

  8. I laughed when I saw kids no to sharing your bed. Some day maybe (not wanting to jump to conclusions) you'll find that even sweeter than snuggling up to a little kitten is snuggling up to a newborn baby.

  9. Love this post :) I'm all about my little Olive sharing our bed too! The sleeping-in-the-crate rule lasted about three months before we caved.

Hope these next few days go by quickly for you!

    xoxo,
    Joelle

  10. I've missed these posts!

I believe that chocolate can cure most problems (not a good belief for my waistline)

  11. I believe that you are going to cry tears of happiness upon arrival in the USA after feeling the subsequent chill in the air. Pumpkin spice never tasted better.

  12. I believe I might just lose my freaking mind if I don't get away from my noisy children sometime very soon.

I believe in the healing power of a good, long evening walk ALONE to look at the leaves and indulge in one of those delicious pumpkin spice lattes you mentioned. That is so what I'm doing tonight.

I believe in these lovely posts. Looking forward to next Monday's one already.

  13. I believe in somehow convincing you and Gabe to make a stop in Philly while you're stateside. How's about we make that happen? I know a great place you can stay that even still has your framed engagement photo on the nightstand. Creepy or darling...you decide.

And yes, snuggling babies in bed is good...for a short period of time. They quickly become bed hogs. And you clearly know my thoughts on yoga pants. The stretchier the better my friend, but just not short.

  16. I believe in sleeping with the windows open (even though I live in DC)

I believe in drinking champagne, because I can.

I believe pet snuggles being one of the best feelings in the world....
